The main idea of Nebelmeer is to combine self-discovery through art with a unique travel experience in a suggestive context such as the woods of Alpe Cimbra. The name is taken from the famous painting by Caspar David Friedrich "Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer" and wants to give a sense of imperfection, of humilitas (humility), experienced by man during the contemplation of the Infinite represented by the immense sea of fog that makes emerge the view of the landscape below, that is life. He mercilessly investigates, in his nakedness, his own soul, his faith, with all his insecurities, his errors, his doubts and certainties.

By inviting national and international artists who will share their knowledge and techniques, we want to invite you to better discover who you are and what you can create even though your mind keeps telling you otherwise. Creating art in a historic place like Maso Spilzi, expertly renovated by the Municipality of Folgaria and made available to art. Going out and in an instant being immersed in a forest surrounded by green meadows which then become a beautiful Indian yellow in autumn, the water that is home to migratory birds, a liberating peace that we are no longer used to, sometimes almost uncomfortable in this fast-paced world. Here artists can immerse themselves in nature, come into contact with what Alpe Cimbra has to offer and then return home inspired, with a greater knowledge not only of painting technique but, above all, of themselves and what they have inside. Because in the end this is the real reason why we make art.
